Four sentences that cost people lakhs
“The seller seems honest”
Most sellers are. But the seller often doesn’t know the car’s full history either — the accident may have happened two owners ago. Honesty doesn’t show up on a paint gauge; only paint does.
“My mechanic friend will take a look”
A workshop mechanic checks what he can see and hear in ten minutes, gives a verbal opinion, and has no paint-depth gauge, no OBD baseline, and no written report you can negotiate with. He may also know the dealer. Independence is the whole point.
“The car looks clean”
The cleanest-looking car in our published findings had a roof reading of 39.1 mils on the paint gauge — roughly nine times factory thickness. Filler and fresh paint are invisible to the eye. That is precisely why they are used.
“2,500 is an extra cost”
Against a PKR 2–4 million purchase, the inspection is about 0.1% of the price — and the report routinely pays for itself in negotiation. One documented defect is usually worth far more than PKR 2,500 off the asking price.

Is a pre-purchase inspection really worth it in Pakistan?
Run the numbers: the inspection costs PKR 2,500–5,000. A hidden accident repair, a tampered odometer or a failing CVT costs lakhs — and you inherit it the moment you pay. In our published field data, accident tells showed up in roughly half the cars we inspected. The question is not whether you can afford the inspection; it’s whether you can afford the surprise.
What if the inspection finds nothing wrong?
That’s a good outcome, not a wasted fee — you now buy with certainty instead of hope, and you have a written scored report confirming the car’s condition on the day you bought it. Clean reports also strengthen your resale story later.
When exactly should I get the car inspected?
After you’ve shortlisted the car and agreed a rough price, but strictly before any token, deposit or payment. The report is your last, best negotiation tool — used before money moves, it works; after, it’s just bad news.
Can I use the report to negotiate?
That’s exactly what it’s for. Every finding comes with a repair estimate at Pakistan market rates. Show the seller the documented defects and negotiate from evidence, not feeling. Buyers regularly recover multiples of the inspection fee.
What does the inspection not cover?
